Is this for me?

Which registration is right for me?

It can sometimes be difficult to know which registration is right for you. The qualifications you hold are important, but they’re not the whole story, and it could be that the learning and professional development you’ve done on the job outweigh your formal achievements. There are also a wide range of professional bodies in science, all with something different to offer, and again it can be confusing to know which one best suits your needs. That’s why we’ve created the quick check tool.

QUICK-CHECK TOOL

The quick-check tool is a rough guide to which registration and which professional body might be most suited to your qualifications, experience and area of practice. It is not intended as a definitive answer and the success of your application depends on demonstrating you meet the standards, not just the experience you have. Licensed Bodies will provide you with more detailed guidance on getting registered and may also find you a mentor to help with your application.

Education

To be registered you will need to have underpinning scientific knowledge through formal qualifications, work-based learning or a mixture of both. Please select the science-based qualifications you hold to find out what you need to demonstrate:

You don’t have the exemplifying qualifications to register, but if you have considerable experience in the workplace you may still qualify if you can demonstrate appropriate work-based learning.
Your qualifications could meet the knowledge requirements for RSciTech but you might also qualify for RSci if you can demonstrate work-based learning to QCF level 5. Complete the quick check to see which registration is most appropriate for the level you are working at.
